Philips Avent Airflex Feeding Bottles
The Phillips AVENT Airflex feeding bottles have a built in valve that promotes healthy, active feeding by working with your baby’s natural feeding rhythm. They are simple to assemble and are very hygienic. The bottles have been constructed using the award winning Philip AVENT wide neck design, which makes the bottle easier to fill and clean as well as being stable and easier to hold. There are clear markings on the bottle which help you to accurately measure the amount of liquid required.
The Philips AVENT teat also works with your baby’s natural feeding rhythm, and like breastfeeding, allows your baby to control the milk flow, as well as helping to reduce overeating and spit-up. The teat is designed to be similar to the natural feel and shape of a mother’s breast allowing easy transition for your baby between breast and bottle feeding. This is especially ideal when combining the two. The Airflex Teats have been constructed using a soft pure medical grade silicone which is odourless, tasteless and broad in shape. The base of the teat has a unique skirt system which has built in one-way air valve flexes to prevent a vacuum, this valve releases the air bubbles on the surface of the milk in the bottle, instead of your baby’s tummy. It also allows your baby to control the milk flow at a pace they are happy with. This unique venting system helps to reduce colic. A clinical study has demonstrated that at 2 weeks of age, babies who used the Philips AVENT bottle experienced less colic and less fussing than those who were fed with a conventional bottle.
Philips AVENT Teats
The Philip AVENT teats come in 5 different flow rates starting from Newborn. Each Teat has a different number of holes which controls the milk flow, allowing for a faster flow of milk as your baby develops. A baby is ready to move up to a faster flowing teat when they show signs of trying to suck harder on the teat to get the milk more quickly, or show signs of tiredness or frustration during their feeds. The age indications on the teats are approximate as babies develop at different rates.

A variable Flow teat is available allowing an extra fast flow and accommodates thicker liquids. The teat has a Slot Cut and the flow rates can be varied by turning the bottle to align the marking on the teat with your baby’s nose.
